This house at 23235 10th Avenue South was constructed in 1918 for Lewis Baumann, the owner of local the Centennial Mills. The Baumann house is a beautiful craftsman style house with two-story front gable. Mrs. L. P. Baumann was a charter member of the Garden Club organized in June 1934. She was also a member of the Des Moines - Zenith Orthopedic Auxiliary when it was formed in 1928. The Orthopedic Auxiliary was a women's volunteer group affiliated with the Children's Orthopedic Hospital.
