Pacific Middle School 2003

Pacific opened in 1961 adjacent to Midway Elementary and Mt. Rainier High School. The school also is just north of the former location of the Des Moines Library. The school's mascot is the Viking. Students from Des Moines, Marvista (in Normandy Park), Midway, Olympic, and Parkside Elementary Schools all move up to Pacific. Pacific prides itself on having a very ethnically diverse population of students representing many countries and cultures. Students from Pacific move on to Mt. Rainier High School. There are 750 students enrolled at Pacific Middle School in grades 7-8 for the 2003-2004 school year.
