- Jan. 25 - Lake Grange #362 formed in the Angle Lake area.
1910–1921
- Students attended Des Moines High School. After its closure students attended Highline or Mt. Rainier High Schools in the Highline School District, and Federal Way or Thomas Jefferson in the Federal Way School District.
1912
- Maltby Road built from Pierce County line to the intersection of the Redondo-Auburn Road and Pacific Highway South. Later known as Marine View Drive & Dash Point Road, it is also designated as SR 509.
1913
- Railroad constructed by Johnny Mack from Redondo to 272nd and 16th Avenue South, then east and northerly to South 260th Street.
1914
- Epworth Heights Camp established by the Puget Sound Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church between 16th and 8th Avenues South from South 288th to South 284th Streets. First used in 1912. The last lots that comprised the Epworth Heights Camp sold in 1961. It became a residential neighborhood.
1915
- August 10 - The Woodmont Country Club was incorporated, and the community's Puget Sound beach property was deeded to the organization. The club became the focal point of the Woodmont beach community and remains one of the oldest continuously operating community beach clubs in South King County.
- The Pacific Highway between Seattle and Tacoma officially opened to traffic. The route passed through Midway and the eastern edge of present-day Des Moines, providing the area's first major all-weather automobile connection to Seattle and Tacoma.
- July 9 - Des Moines Rural Telephone Company incorporated.
1916
- Alder Beach Manor built by Emil Rink at South 227th Street and 6th Avenue South.
- Rudberg House fire.
- November 16 - Automobile ferry service between Des Moines and Portage on Vashon Island begun. This was the first crosss-Puget Sound automobile ferry.
1918
- Star Lake Inn opened by the Hanemann family. It was sold in 1968.
1919
- First Annual Pioneer, or Old Settler's, Picnic held. Richard C. Finnell, president.
